Most of the casinos and poker rooms in Bogota are located in the Zona Rosa, which is the city’s entertainment district. As such, there are plenty of hotels, but this is also the more expensive area of town. Since I was planning to spend most of my time at the poker tables, I was looking for little more than a bed and a shower. Day 1. Bogota

Upon arrival, one of See Colombia Travel´s representatives will waiting to transfer you to your chosen hotel where you can relax and prepare for your upcoming adventure with us.

Day 2. Bogota, City Tour

This is a three-hour excursion that visits the colonial area of La Candelaria, the historical center of the city, where you’ll find museums, restaurants and other cultural attractions. Next, we visit the spiritual heart of the city, Bolívar Square, to get a feeling of the fascinating story of Bogotá from its birth to the present day reflected in the surrounding historically significant buildings, including the Presidential Palace. We continue to the Quinta de Bolívar, the Liberator´s former home, which now houses a museum of documents and objects that belonged to South America´s most significant historical figure. Afterwards, we go to the one and only Gold Museum, home to a collection of more than 36,000 pieces of precious pre-Columbian artefacts.

Day 3. Zipaquira. Salt Cathedral of Zipaquira and 'El Dorado' Sacred Lake of Gutavita

We start off marvelling at the unmissable cathedral below the colonial town of Zipaquira, completely carved out of salt and dramatically lit. Next stop is the fabled Lake of Guatavita, birthplace of the El Dorado legend. We then return to bustling Bogota.

Day 4. Bogota – Cartagena

Transfer to the Airport, assisted by See Colombia Travel staff, for your upcoming journey across Colombia. Upon arrival in Cartagena, you have the chance to relax one of our handpicked hotels.

Day 5. Cartagena. City Tour

Explore the history of Cartagena, from the super-chic, modern Bocagrande to the storied walls of the Old City. Visit the church of San Pedro Claver, the oldest in the city, and then marvel at the Castle of San Felipe – the most impressive feat of colonial military architecture in the Americas. Finally, don´t forget to take your camera to the Convent of La Popa, built on top of a hill providing Cartagena´s best view. Your afternoon is free to enjoy the city´s many pleasures.

Day 6. Cartagena. Day on the Islands

We whisk you off on an hour-short boat ride to Playa Blanca, one of the most beautiful beaches on the Caribbean coast of Colombia. This is the perfect place to relish the super-fresh local seafood and find your tropical beach paradise,

Day 7. Cartagena
